What the future holds…

Sadly, we have taken the difficult decision to shutter Angelic Films after 21 brilliant years. The COVID pandemic proved just too difficult to navigate for a small production company, and new freelance opportunities have proved just too hard to resist. Trevor is off to enjoy his retirement whilst Amy is going from strength to strength writing and directing for HETV & Film.

We’ve loved working with a diverse and brilliant collection of agencies, brands, clients, collaborators and crew over the years to produce some fantastic campaigns and films that have gone on to awards success and garnered many millions of views across multiple channels. We’ve been part of the grass roots movement as video became a central part of online marketing and we were there at the beginning of FB, Twitter (and many now forgotten platforms!) creating compelling content for Social media, with award-winning campaigns for the likes of Nokia, Skype, Redbull, Lenovo, Pedigree, and many more. From humble beginnings working from home to our brilliant studios in High Wycombe, then on to the world famous Pinewood Studios, we got around a bit (in the nicest possible way).

We’d still love to work with you, but it won’t be under the Angelic label for now.

Angelic creates a series of powerful short documentaries with THT

We have had the pleasure recently of working with the Terrence Higgins Trust on a series of emotive short documentaries, each one following an inspirational person living with HIV. This is Trevor’s story.

Angelic creates a series of Movie spoofs for Lenovo

Working with creative agency Wearetwogether, we produced a series of movie spoof sales films for Lenovo. Shot over 3 days on location in Buckinghamshire, each of the films is based on a classic movie or TV show (Bond, 2001, Batman) and features two great young actors having a lot of fun with the roles whilst showing off the new Lenovo Yoga kit.

Say it with Skype

In 2011, 2012 & 2013 we teamed up with Skype and digital agency 1000heads to produce the video content for their new Facebook app ‘Say it with Skype’.
We produced and shot the majority of the app video content as well as teaser videos, promos, splash videos and a Youtube takeover video and were responsible for post producing all the additional content and supplying the digital assets to the app developer for authoring into the app.

In total nearly 30 bands took part, we built more than 30 individual room sets, worked on 3 distinct versions of the app and produced the ambitious ‘Say it with Skype LIVE’ gig with a band playing live via Skype with members in New York, LA and London. The app and campaign went on to win multiple marketing campaign awards and we were very proud to be a part of it.

The Treehouse is coming!

Our latest short film project ‘The Treehouse’ is getting ready for production in late May on location in Kent and at Shepperton Studios near London.

Supported by the BFI and Creative England as one of this years iShorts, ‘The Treehouse’ is a though provoking short film about life and death and what, if anything, comes after.

Featuring a great cast including two amazing child actors along with some familiar faces, and with a brilliant crew made up of experienced and emerging creative film technicians, the film is sure to be a beautiful piece once completed.

We are also partnering with UK children’s charity Grief Encounter on the project and all proceeds from the London Premiere will go to this great cause.

New Angelic office opens in Essex!

We’ve opened a new office in the pretty market town of Great Dunmow in Essex.

In addition to our Pinewood Studios base, our new office is well situated to serve clients across NE London and the East of England. Close to the M11 and Stansted Airport, it has great transport links throughout East Anglia enabling us to work more closely with clients in Essex, Cambridgeshire, Herfordshire, Suffolk and Norfolk as well as our existing client base in London and Buckinghamshire.

Great Dunmow is a historic market town dating back to Roman times, and which flourished through the middle ages. Filled with great local shops, boutiques and businesses it has a great many historic listed buildings including our very own Grade 2* office in The Chestnuts!

Nokia / Three Mobile Conference

After the success of our last Nokia / Makerbot 3D printing film from MWC back in february, Nokia and 1000heads approached us to produce another film this time to screen as part of the keynote speech at the Three Mobile Sales conference in Liverpool.

Nokia ‘Better Photos Every Day’

We recently made this comparison film for Nokia highlighting the camera capabilities of the Lumia 925. Whilst more pictures are taken on the iPhone, Better pictures are taken with the Lumia 925.

All the comparison pictures are real and none have been retouched or photoshopped.

1 million + views on Youtube in just 4 days combined with coverage in pretty much every tech blog and website around.
